Thanks Mojo, I have actually already done exactly that. I met with the new principal in September and we will start the process in January, that is when school intake starts for our region.
I guess I am more concerned about how the teachers will respond to her as a person and also her daily needs. I know that she will get an EA and hopefully one that has worked with children with either Down Syndrome or Autism (I know that is a big hopefully).
It is the teachers of the school that truly will mold the other children and acceptance is going to be key. I am not one to worry about what other people think however I have a son that also attends this school and the bottom line is kids will be kids and if the teachers are not accepting then who will help the other kids understand?
Perhaps I am worrying about something that may or may not happen, I am curious if you have come across this situation?
Thanks
